Chelsea are still looking for a long-term replacement for John Terry and have lined up Newcastle captain Jamal Lascelles to the club this summer in a bid to find a permanent replacement for their former captain.
Lascelles, who joined Newcastle from Nottingham Forest in 2014, has become integral for Rafa Benitez's side and will be in demand from the Premier League top six.
But Chelsea, according to the Mirror, want to steal a march on their rivals for his signature by making a £30million offer for the 24-year-old.
Chelsea only have the FA Cup as an avenue for trophy success this season after a weak effort to defend their Premier League title.
The Blues sit fifth, five points behind Sunday's opponents Tottenham, and face a tough task to finish in the Champions League qualification places.
Asked if his future depends on finishing in the top four, Conte admitted: “I don’t know. I must be honest, I don’t know.” But he added: “This is not my problem. It’s a problem for the club, not me.”
